Divide your target annual income plus business costs by the hours you can actually bill per year. Not all working hours are billable – budget for sales, admin and holidays.

How many hours per year are billable?

Realistically often 40–60% of working time is billable. At 25 hrs/week over 46 weeks that's around 1,150 billable hours.

Should I add VAT?

If you're VAT-registered, VAT is added on top of the net hourly rate. The calculator shows both values.
